FAQ
-
What does it feel like? Does it hurt?
The treatment is very gentle. Most clients feel a sense of fullness or light cramping as the water moves through the colon, but it’s not painful. We take everything at your pace — and you’re fully supported throughout the session.
-
How many session will I need?
This depends on your goals and how your body is functioning. I always suggest clients start with a series of sessions (e.g, 3–10 sessions over several weeks) to achieve a proper reset, then continue weekly, fortnightly or monthly for maintenance. I’ll guide you based on what your body needs, your health history, goals and budget.
-
Will Colonics make my bowel 'lazy'?
Not at all. Colon Hydrotherapy actually helps train the bowel to function more effectively. It stimulates natural movement (peristalsis) and supports better tone and rhythm in the colon.
-
Will I lose all my good gut bacteria?
Only minimal amounts are removed — mostly what’s sitting in waste matter. Colonics don’t sterilise the gut. With proper hydration, nutrition, and optional probiotic support post-session, your good bacteria can actually thrive better in a cleaner environment.
-
How do I prepare for my session?
It helps to stay well hydrated in the days before (3L per day) and eat light meals the day of your appointment. Try to avoid alcohol, caffeine, and heavy or greasy foods beforehand for best comfort and results.
-
Will I need to stay close to a toilet afterwards?
Most people feel completely fine after their treatment and can go about their day as usual. You may feel the urge to pass some water or gas shortly after, but it’s usually mild and manageable.
-
Is the treatment private and hygienic?
Absolutely. We use sterile, single-use equipment and a closed system — which means no mess, no odour, and full discretion. Your comfort, safety, and dignity are always our top priority.
-
Can I have a colonic during my period?
Yes, and many clients actually find it helps ease period-related bloating and cramping. You’ll be fully covered and we’ll make sure you’re comfortable — it’s entirely your choice.
-
How is this different from an enema or laxatives?
Enemas only clear the lower part of the colon, and laxatives force elimination chemically — which can lead to dependency or dehydration. Colon Hydrotherapy gently cleanses the entire large bowel using just purified water.
